Northlands Girls' High School
Rated as a Top 25 Public High School in South Africa
The annual Fairlady Magazine Top 25 State Schools survey looks at all the ‘measurables’ of the 25 000 government high schools in South Africa – girls, boys and co-ed high schools. The starting point for the survey was the Top 100 schools, based on matric results supplied from the Department of Education and then those 100 schools completed an in-depth survey which eventually resulted in the Top 25.
The list is alphabetical and not ranked and each school was assessed on the following: matric pass rates, number of matrics with 4 As or more, number of Grade 11s that progressed to matric and the number of Grade 10s who received an A for Mathematics. School subject offerings were also assessed plus extramural options and sport, cultural, outreach and leadership programmes. The schools were also assessed on fees, facilities and teacher pupil ratio. Out of 25 000 schools nationally, NGHS is proud to be listed in the Top 25!
